Privacy Policy

1. Information Kept on Your Device

Everything about your play stays in the App's private storage on your phone and is never sent to us:

• Profile: the first name or nickname you enter, and your age group.
• Progress: XP, level, daily streak, scores, accuracy per subject, best speed score, badges, and the IDs of recently seen questions (so they aren't repeated).
• Recent topics: the last few AI quiz topics you typed, shown as shortcuts.
• A random install ID, created on first use, used only for the AI quiz daily limit (see section 2).

You can clear your progress with Settings → Reset progress, or remove everything by uninstalling the App.

If you have Android backup turned on, Android may include the App's data in your device backup with Google, under your Google account settings and Google's privacy policy. We cannot access those backups.

2. AI Topic Quizzes

When you ask for a quiz on a topic you type, the App sends our server (Google Cloud Functions for Firebase):

• the topic text,
• your age group, so the questions suit your age,
• the random install ID, so we can apply a fair-use daily limit.

Our server sends the topic and age group, but not the install ID, to Google's Gemini model on Vertex AI to write the questions. It checks the result and returns it to the App. We keep a daily counter per install ID (the random ID, the date and a count). The topic may appear in our server logs for up to 30 days, without your install ID or any other identity. Under Google Cloud's terms, prompts sent to Vertex AI are not used to train Google's models.

Reporting a question

You can tap ⚑ Report on any AI-written question. We then store the question and its answers, the reason you chose, your age group, the random install ID and, for players aged 13 and over, any short note you add. We use reports only to check and improve quizzes, and delete them once they have been reviewed.

Please don't type personal information, such as names, addresses or phone numbers, as a quiz topic. AI-written questions are checked automatically but can occasionally be wrong.

3. Your Account

Signing in is optional. You can sign in from Settings or when you choose Premium, either with your Google account or with an email address and password. Through Google Firebase Authentication we then hold:

• your email address and an account ID created by Firebase,
• your name: from your Google account, or the name you type when creating an email account (optional),
• for email accounts, your password, stored by Firebase only as a secure one-way hash (we can never see it), and whether you've confirmed your email address.

For email accounts, Firebase sends emails on our behalf to confirm your address and, if you ask, to reset your password.

We use these only to link a Premium subscription to you, so it works on any phone you sign in on. Your progress is not uploaded to your account. You can sign out at any time in Settings.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly, with a free trial for new subscribers) sold through Google Play. Google handles payment, and we never see your card or bank details. To confirm a purchase and keep Premium up to date, our server receives from Google Play and stores in Google Firestore, linked to your account ID:

• the purchase token and order status,
• the plan, its renewal or expiry date, and whether it is in a trial, grace period or on hold,
• notices from Google Play about renewals, cancellations and refunds.

A one-way hash of your account ID is attached to the purchase in Google Play, so a purchase can't be claimed by a different account. Manage or cancel your subscription in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

5. Permissions

The App uses only the Internet permission, for AI quizzes, sign-in and purchases. It does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.

6. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell, rent or share your information for advertising. We use these service providers, which process data on our behalf:

Their handling of data is described in Google's Privacy Policy. Data may be processed on Google's servers in India and other countries. We may also disclose information where required by law.

7. Retention & Security

• On your phone: until you reset your progress or uninstall the App.
• Account and subscription records: while your account exists. They are deleted when you delete your account, except purchase records that Google Play or tax law requires to be kept.
• Daily AI-quiz counters: only the random install ID, date and count.
• Server logs: up to 30 days.

All connections use encryption (HTTPS). Account and subscription records are protected by security rules that let you read only your own Premium status, while only our server can write it.

8. Your Choices & Rights

• Use the App without signing in, and sign out at any time.
• Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing privacy@snappyapps.in.
• Delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, or see Delete your account.
• Withdraw consent or raise a grievance under applicable Indian data protection law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023): contact our Grievance Officer below.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for ages 6 and over and is suitable for children. To protect them:

• There are no ads, no chat, no public profiles and no way to contact other users.
• Children can use every free feature without an account. Their name and progress stay on the phone.
• After setup, the App only suggests creating an account to players who choose the 13–17 or 18+ age group.
• For the 6–8 and 9–12 age groups, a grown-up check (a multiplication question) comes before Premium and purchases, sign-in, account deletion, links that leave the App, and changing to an older age group.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described here. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, contact privacy@snappyapps.in and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or our practices change, or for legal or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, give notice in the App or on this page.
